The birth of Moses
The story of the birth of Moses is told in the Bible in the book of Exodus. According to the story, Moses was born at a time when the Pharaoh of Egypt had ordered that all Hebrew male babies be killed. Moses’ mother, Jochebed, was unable to bear the thought of her son being killed, so she hid him in a basket and placed him among the reeds along the Nile river.
The basket was discovered by Pharaoh’s daughter, who was bathing in the river. She took pity on the baby and decided to keep him as her own, naming him Moses. Moses was raised in the palace and became educated in all the ways of the Egyptians.
As an adult, Moses became aware of his Hebrew heritage and decided to leave the palace and return to his people. He eventually became their leader and, with the help of God, led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and into the promised land.
The death of Moses
The story of the death of Moses is told in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy. According to the story, Moses was 120 years old when he died. God told him that he would not be allowed to enter the promised land because of his disobedience at the waters of Meribah.
Instead, God told Moses to go up to a mountain in the land of Moab and view the land that he had been promised. Moses went up to the mountain and God showed him the land of Canaan. After seeing the land, Moses died on the mountain at the age of 120. It is said that his face shone with the glory of God and that no one knows where he was buried
